Industry 4.0 is the new stage of evolution of manufacturing, producting and other industrial companies. This new stage is defined by the Digital Transformation of all these industries in order to increase value creation and optimize efficiency and results.
The major difference between Industry 3.0 and Industry 4.0 relies on the amount of human interactions needed to execute an operation. In I3.0 processes are automated through information technology, but still depend on human interactions. Whereas, in I4.0 large amounts of shop floor data is used to optimize processes without the need of having humans involved in the process.

The convergence of OT/IT refers to the integration of operational and information technology. In which, IT is used to merge hardware and software to threat data, and OT is used to monitor events, processes, and equipment to optimize operations.
Augmented Reality (AR)
Augmented Reality (AR) enhances what people see. The technology that superimposes computer-generated elements (such as images, souds, documents, lists, and other kinds of data) in a real-world environment through a see-through screen.
The difference between the three technologies relies on the degree of immersion in the experience, as well as the interactions with the experience.

- Virtual Reality is a 100% fulll immersion virtual experience.

- Augmented Reality (AR) adds virtual elements to real scenarios through a see-through screen

- Mixed Reality (MR) not only adds virtual elements to a real environment, but also allows people to interact with those same elements.

Augmented Reality (AR) apps can be used with Augmented Reality glasses (for example, HoloLens) and mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. The only requisite is to have support for AR Core for Android devices, and AR Kit for iOS devices.
A digital twin is a model that virtually represents products, processes or services.This technology allows to execute in-depth analysis on the virtual version to understand errors before they may happen, or to find new opportunities to improve the products or process by using simulations.
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the therm that describes all activities involving using the Internet for purposes beyond computers or smartphones, to all equipment, things, processes, or environments of our day-to-day lives.
IIoT is an extension of the Internet of Things, applied to an Industrial context. It refers to the connections created between devices, equipments and all the shop floor machinery to extract data, synchronize actions using specific platforms as a tool.
