Lisbon, Portugal — April, 2026 — Glartek, a leading provider of AI-native EHSQ Connected Worker software, today announced the launch of its next-generation, industrial-grade lone worker solution, available as part of its EHSQ Connected Worker platform, redefining how worker safety is managed across high-risk environments.
Unlike traditional systems that rely on dedicated hardware and external sensors, Glartek’s lone worker solution operates as a standard mobile application within its ESHQ platform. It not only monitors location and movement but also understands the context of the work being performed. By analyzing activity in real time, it can detect risks early, trigger alerts, and initiate emergency responses with contextual data such as location, audio, or video.
For example, if a field operator enters a restricted area, deviates from a defined procedure, or shows abnormal movement patterns, the platform can automatically trigger alerts, initiate assistance workflows, or escalate incidents with location and contextual data. In critical situations, it can activate emergency requests using audio, video, and GPS tracking. Fallback connectivity such as satellite and SMS is also available to ensure faster and more reliable response, even in low or no cellular coverage environments.
The solution combines indoor and outdoor activity monitoring, fall and movement detection, geofencing, and real-time incident reporting, while maintaining compatibility with industrial requirements such as operation in ATEX environments. It also integrates seamlessly with existing enterprise systems and enhances frontline awareness through capabilities such as augmented reality (AR) visualizations and digital safety barriers.
“With this solution, we are moving lone worker safety from reactive monitoring to intelligent, context-aware protection,” said Bruno Duarte, CEO at Glartek. “By combining AI with the devices workers already use, we are making safety more scalable, accessible, and effective.”
Developed under the Safe Solo Industry Operator (s2IO) R&D project, funded by the P2030 program and in collaboration with INESC TEC. The s2IO project is being developed in collaboration with industrial partners including Secil, The Navigator Company, and Altri, ensuring the solution is grounded in real operational needs and validated in demanding environments.
Glartek will present live demonstrations of the solution at major industry events in May 2026 in Berlin, including HSE Nexus Berlin and EHS Congress Berlin.
