MCG relied on fragmented, informal channels to manage knowledge on the shop floor. When a fault appeared on a production line, operators turned to WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and paper reports to diagnose and respond. This dispersion of information slowed troubleshooting, introduced errors, and made it hard to retain the technical expertise built up over decades. MCG needed to centralize that knowledge and provide operators with tools to assist their decision-making and keep complex lines running safely.

Working with Glartek, MCG deployed GIL (Glartek Intelligent Layer), an industrial virtual assistant, on the shop floor. GIL merges MCG's complex technical manuals and factory data into a single, conversational interface. When an operator spots a non-conformity or a fault on the line, they simply speak or type to GIL, and the assistant responds instantly with the exact, step-by-step repair procedure. The result is a shop floor where the right knowledge is always one question away.
The project focused on achieving three main goals:

Knowledge on the MCG shop floor was fragmented and hard to reach. When a line fault occurred, operators depended on informal channels (WhatsApp, phone calls, paper reports) to work out what was wrong and how to fix it.
This scattered approach made diagnosis slow, increased the chance of errors, and put valuable technical knowledge at risk of being lost. Without a central, reliable place to turn for procedures, operators had less autonomy and interventions took longer than they should.
With GIL, operators have instant access to the exact repair procedure the moment a problem appears, by simply speaking or typing to the assistant. Complex manuals and factory data now live in a single interface rather than across informal channels.
MCG expects this to translate into a drastic reduction in Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and fewer unplanned stoppages. The greatest benefit, however, is knowledge retention: technical expertise is captured and preserved, so any operator can safely and efficiently perform complex tasks.
"It's been a really interesting process. Gil has even reached the point of saying, 'if this solution doesn't work, then try this one.' And what we've seen is that people appreciate not having to remember every possible solution — instead, Gil provides them in a structured way."
