Global automotive parts manufacturer increases production by 6% using Glartek’s comprehensive digital solution

Glartek has helped a worldwide leader operating in the automotive industry digitize its operations by implementing the Augmented & Connected Worker platform to reduce errors, train frontline workers, and reduce waste.

Lisbon, Portugal – 6th April 2023 – Glartek, a leading technology developer for the manufacturing and asset-intensive industries, has worked with one of the top auto suppliers to optimize its firewall workstation operations.

The automotive parts manufacturer produces and supplies a wide range of parts, with a particular focus on electronic components and subsystems, but also cutting-edge interface solutions. With over 230 00 employees worldwide and countless high-profile clients, the manufacturer is required to meet the demands of an ever-evolving market.

By resisting change, the customer still employed paper files in firewall workstations. This led to a high rate of errors, lack of mobility, inefficient and complex work instructions, and unpractical training methods.

Glartek tackled this client’s shortcomings by ending paper-based work instructions and digitizing firewall workstation operations using its no-code, customizable platform. This allowed managers to manage work instructions and monitor relevant analytics in real time, helping inform their decision-making. Simultaneously, frontline workers were able to leverage 2D and Augmented Reality mobility to access work instructions and learn how to perform new tasks and procedures. This proved a more efficient and illustrative method to learn and follow instructions.

As a result, this automotive parts manufacturer delivered training faster, increased its production by 6%, and reduced waste. In addition, the company ended all production-related errors and efficiently ensured the high quality of their products.

“Once again, Glartek is delighted to have earned the trust of a global manufacturing leader to help improve its operations. By identifying improvement needs and challenges we have been able to introduce our Augmented and Connected technology to transform the reality of the company, optimize procedures, and further advance their path toward full digital transformation and continuous improvement.”

 Bruno Duarte, CEO, Glartek

Glartek continues to deliver a no-code fully integrated digital solution that promotes digitalization and continuous improvement. The Augmented & Connected Worker platform tackles several use cases (including team management, work instructions, operations monitoring, and training). The platform also incorporates Augmented Reality for task execution and remote assistance on any device. This includes tablets, smartphones, Microsoft HoloLens 2, and smart glasses.
