NOS, Sumol+Compal, and Glartek, together to bring up the 1st 5G Factory in Portugal

In partnership with NOS and Sumol+Compal, Glartek’s innovative solutions are now part of the 1st 5G Factory in Portugal

Today, Glartek, a leader in innovative Augmented Reality (AR) solutions for manufacturing industries, has been part of the launch of the 1st 5G Factory in Portugal. Together with NOS SGPS, Glartek has provided its cutting-edge Augmented & Connected Worker, and Visual Remote Assistance solutions, to ensure a new digital reality in the Sumol+Compal factory plant. Today, with both NOS 5G and Glartek’s solutions, Sumol+Compal factory is able to use a new network to increase production efficiency with an augmented reality solution.

After preparing Leixões Port, a football stadium, and a Hospital da Luz to 5G, NOS 5G has finally reached out to the Manufacturing Industry. Therefore, the Sumol+Compal factory in Almeirim was chosen to become the first manufacturing adopter in the whole country. The technology provided will allow, on the one hand, to connect all production lines and obtain real-time information on the production process. On the other hand, using augmented reality and applying it in preventive maintenance operations on machines
